Harry Potter Book Night

We hope you had a spellbinding Harry Potter book night on February 4th 2016. Fans of all ages celebrated J.K. Rowling’s wonderful novels – and helped us to pass the magic on to young readers who haven’t yet discovered these unforgettable books. With the help of The Short Story Lady, we joined with over 12,600 parties worldwide in an evening of celebrations. Over 110 children & 65 adults enjoyed the fun at Coppice Library.

As well as storytelling, there were many exciting activities – from making broomsticks and levitating feathers to a treasure trail hidden all around the library.  Themed refreshments were provided including Bertie Bott’s every flavoured beans, chocolate frogs, dragon’s eggs and miniature chocolate wands.

Thanks to your donations we have made a donation of £75 to Lumos, JK Rowling’s children’s charity http://wearelumos.org/

Thanks to Carol Ferro aka the Short Story Lady for her inspiration and organising the activities. Thanks also to the brilliant volunteers, without whom we wouldn’t have been able to put on the event.

Many thanks Thrive Trafford for their Voluntary Sector Grant which supported this event.
